Pete, a pro triathlete who also works for the Dept. of Transport, came back from a knee injury to cycle 468km from Lands End to Hyde Park Corner. Read his success story here.

At 9:30pm on Tuesday 6th July I arrived at Hyde Park Corner. I’d cycled 468km from Lands End, having set off a 9:40am to set a new official point-to-point national record of 11hrs 49 minutes and 42 seconds. The average speed was 39kmph.

I’m a pro/elite ironman triathlete, having clocked 8:13 for the Ironman distance in 2019. I work for Department for Transport on making cycling a better way to get around, the thought of showing what a bicycle can do was inspiring.

Personally, wanted a new challenge to push myself forwards and show what’s possible when you put you mind and body to a big challenge. Now building to race Challenge Championship and ITU World LD in September.

To the PSM Team — thanks so much for guiding me through the ongoing knee recovery. The left knee was absolutely fine in the event, but more importantly, it recovered better in the Spring thanks to your guidance, which meant this was even possible.
