This is an exciting position for a passionate and ambitious Strength & Conditioning Coach / Clinical Exercise Physiologist.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced clinician working within private practice or a high-performance environment.

We have both full-time and part-time roles available. You can expect to work with a diverse range of clinical cases alongside a multidisciplinary team, including Sport & Exercise Medicine Consultants, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, and other allied health professionals, helping patients achieve their goals through individualised programming.

Our collaborative approach is key to helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes.

Each clinic features 9–10 consulting rooms and a generously sized, fully equipped rehabilitation gym, including VALD technology.

To act as an autonomous clinician delivering Strength and Conditioning/Clinical Exercise Physiology to patients by taking personal responsibility for planning and prioritising own patient caseload including appropriate referral to other members of the multi-disciplinary team. This role also requires the clinician to build own case load through appropriate relationship development with referrers including GPs and Consultants.

  • Act as an autonomous clinician within a multi-disciplinary team. 
  • Undertake comprehensive musculoskeletal and cardiovascular assessments, interpreting both clinical and non-clinical information to determine appropriate goals and training requirements; reflecting the philosophy of Pure Sports Medicine. 
  • Deliver tailored exercise programs to a wide variety of patients, from athletic to clinical populations, considering age, health status, chronic conditions, and individual goals.  
  • Apply a variety of training methods and exercise modalities, including S&C, exercise physiology, and behavior change strategies appropriate to the individual’s needs.  
  • Work across both rehabilitation and performance pathways, supporting patients returning from injury, managing long term health conditions, or optimizing physical performance.  
  • Refer patients appropriately to other Pure Sports Medicine services (SEM Consultants, Physiotherapy, Soft Tissue Therapy, Podiatry, Pilates etc.) as required.  
  • Communicate effectively with patients, including where there are barriers (language, cultural differences, loss of hearing, pain, fear) to gain consent and encourage engagement. 
  • Manage sensitive conversations (e.g. lifestyle behaviours, diet, non-compliance) with professionalism and empathy. 

  • Support and contribute to the growth of the Performance and Health & Wellbeing services at Pure Sports Medicine 
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of assessment and patient management frameworks that ensure consistency across the team 
  • Collaborate with other members of the MDT and management teams to develop services in line with published evidence and best practice guidelines.  
  • Contribute to new initiatives such as chronic disease management pathways, health optimization programs and performance services. 
  • Build external referral networks (GPs, consultants, healthcare providers etc.). 

  • Maintain high professional standards by adhering to UKSCA, NSCA, ESSA, or other relevant professional codes of practice. 
  • Recognize and work within the boundaries of professional competence, escalating or signposting where appropriate. 
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient notes in line with Pure Sports Medicine standards. 
  • Participate in CPD, in-service training, and personal development planning. 
  • Contribute to teaching, CPD sessions, and mentoring of colleagues.  

  • Produce timely, detailed clinical reports for referrers (GPs, consultants, and other healthcare professionals). 
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records in line with PSM’s standards of practice and clinic policy. 
  • Support administrative processes and collaborate with clinic staff to ensure smooth patient journeys. 

  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical governance, contributing to audit, research, and service evaluation.  
  • Use evidence-based practice to guide decision making and recommend service improvements 
  • Implement appropriate outcome measures to evaluate patient response and service impact. 
  • Contribute to service audits, research projects, or quality improvement initiatives  
  • Maintain professional accountability and manage clinical risk within own caseload 
  • Respect patient confidentiality at all times and to not divulge patient information unless sanctioned by the requirements of the role. 

  • Attend staff meetings and company events as required including CPD events hosted at the clinic 
  • Engage in the monthly review process with your line manager. 
  • Any other duties which may be required and agreed with the Company.

The successful post holder will have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science/Strength and Conditioning/Exercise Physiology or equivalent.  
  • Master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning/Clinical Exercise Physiology or equivalent (desirable) 
  • Qualification/Accreditation in Strength and Conditioning and/or Exercise Physiology e.g. UKSCA, NSCA, ESSA 
  • A passion for driving clinical excellence and maintaining high standards in all aspects of patient care and service delivery 
  • To be able to exercise a professional duty of care in a safe environment. 
  • Experience in managing a busy musculoskeletal caseload of patients in a private practice environment 
  • Excellent self-awareness and social skills 
  • Confidence and commitment to build and retain your own patient list whilst collaborating with external stakeholders to promote your services and the organisation.  
  • An understanding of the financial structure of MSK independent private practice organisations.
