Dr Craig Sheridan
Biography

Dr Craig Sheridan is a Consultant in Sport, Exercise & Musculoskeletal Medicine (SEM) who practices privately in the UK and Channel Islands. He provides specialist care within military and professional sporting environments working with Ipswich Town Football Club and the English Football Association. He has previously worked with Colchester United Football Club, Essex County Cricket, Henley Royal Regatta and the Island Games. As such, he has extensive experience in providing holistic assessments and management of work, military and sport-related injuries.

Dr Sheridan obtained his medical degree from Leicester-Warwick Medical School and sports medicine master’s degree with distinction from Queen Mary University London. He originally trained as a GP and for many years ran specialist MSK clinics within the military and NHS before undertaking consultant specialist SEM training in the East of England, working for Cambridge University NHS Foundation trust. His fellowship was at the Ministry of Defences state-of-the-art Defence and Medical Rehabilitation Centre’ at Stanford Hall.

Dr Sheridan has a particular interest in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, particularly for shoulder pain, tendinopathy and acute muscle injuries. He is able to perform a wide range of ultrasound-guided injections, which can provide valuable diagnostic information by identifying the specific site of pain as well as providing treatment of symptoms. 

Working with military personnel and athletes for many years, he has developed a keen interest in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions seen all too frequently in these populations, including stress fractures, tendinopathy and early knee arthritis.
