I am a Physiotherapist with extensive experience in Dance & Performing Arts Medicine and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Lauren began her journey into Physiotherapy in 2012, during which she simultaneously completed a Master’s degree in Dance Science and assisted the lead Physiotherapist for Scottish Ballet.

After graduating with an MSc in Physiotherapy from Aberdeen, Scotland, she began working within the NHS, specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Throughout this time, Lauren developed her experience in treating a myriad of conditions by also working as a freelance Physiotherapist with Scottish Ballet and in a private practice specialising in back pain.

In 2023 – 24, Lauren completed an academic year working as a Physiotherapist and lecturer in anatomy at English National Ballet School. Following this, she returned to Pure Sports Medicine where she launched a multidisciplinary ‘Dance & Performing Arts Medicine’ service. She also works as a freelance physiotherapist with the Central School of Ballet.

Combining her own extensive experience in dance training and performance with a broad educational background, has resulted in a deeper understanding of the physical and psychological impacts of high performance demands on the human body. Lauren has also attended conferences worldwide from the United States to Japan (including International Association of Dance Medince & Science [IADMS] annual conferences and Physios in Sport’s ‘Hypermobility and Control’) in order to enhance her comprehension of Physiotherapy for diverse athletes and performers.

Lauren draws on coaching and interpersonal skills to empower individuals of all fitness levels in achieving their goals through personalised treatment programmes, manual therapy, and education.

Overall, Lauren aims to utilise her experience in order to approach injury prevention and rehabilitation in a more unique, holistic, and meaningful way.
