Abbie comes from a sport-loving family and always enjoyed P.E. at school. It was her love of sport that directed her studies and she went on to graduate with a degree in Exercise, Health & Nutrition. During her time at university she developed a particular interest in treating neck and shoulder issues and she remains keen to further her knowledge, gathering new techniques to treat issues in these areas.
Abbie’s clinical journey started in 2018 after seeking massage therapy treatment herself after one too many tumbles and horse riding-related falls. Her experience showed her how beneficial this type of treatment can be, and coupled with her love of sports and degree, this industry seemed a perfect fit.
Before joining the Pure Sports Medicine team Abbie gained experience working in multidisciplinary teams in private practices in London and her hometown of Salisbury. She has provided treatment to a variety of people over her career so far, ranging from office workers to professional rugby players.
Abbie believes the benefits of soft tissue treatment can be both physical and psychological, and she likes to adopts a holistic approach to her treatments. This involves treating the source of the issue by combining multiple techniques to alleviate pain, relieve tension and work through any niggles that may be affecting somebody’s ability to move freely, or take part in their activities of choice.
