    Romila is passionate about the non-surgical management of musculoskeletal issues. She believes that focussing on a clear diagnosis and individualising the management plan, supported by good therapy allows for the best chance for clients to return to the activities they love.

    Dr Romila Bahl is a Consultant in Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine (SEM) with extensive experience managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal (MSK) issues and sports injuries. She specialises in Adolescent Sports medicine, Women’s MSK health including menopause and comprehensive personalised Health and wellbeing analysis and treatments.

    Romila is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine and a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.  She is on the GMC register as a consultant specialist in both SEM and Emergency Medicine

    Romila received Distinctions in her Post Graduate Certificates (PgCert) in Focussed Ultrasound from King’s College London and in Performing arts Medicine from   University College London. She has firm background in medicine having passed the Membership Examination for the Royal College of Physicians.

    Within her working week, Romila is an NHS Adult, Adolescent and Paediatric Consultant in Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine, an Emergency Medicine Consultant and a Consultant to Moving Medicine, part of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine

    Romila is well aware of how frustrating musculoskeletal issues and injuries can be having had her own injuries and had to change her sport and exercise goals.  She has supported clients though pre-hab and rehab as a personal trainer. She has first- hand experience of supporting her own adolescent children when injuries or other related issues disrupt their plans.

    Romila graduated from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, part of the University of London, in 1995 and initially trained in Internal and Acute medicine first as a part of a Royal Free Hospital rotation and then at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

    She extended her training by stepping up to cover Neurology at Hurstwood Park Regional Centre and in Cardiology in Jersey then the King George Hospital Ilford.

    Romila discovered her passion for acute injuries, when working as registrar in Emergency Medicine in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Sydney Australia. She returned to the UK in 2002 first working as an Ultrasound Fellow and then on the London Deanery Specialist Training Programme for Emergency Medicine.

    During this time she also studied Sports and Exercise Medicine at Queen Mary’s Hospital (University of London) and started her personal training qualifications.

    Romila obtained her certificate of completion of training (CCT) in Emergency Medicine in 2007 and worked as a consultant in University College Hospital London where she ran the Paediatric Emergency Department.  She moved to King’s College Hospital in 2010 and remains there for one day a week.

    In 2016 Romila joined the East Midlands Training rotation for Sports and Exercise medicine where she worked in the National Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine, English Institute for Sport (now UK institute for Sport), British Canoeing,  Mile End Dance clinic, Advanced Wellbeing and Research Centre, Sheffield Hallam University, Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC), Nottingham University Hospital and University Hospital Leicester where she remains as a Consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine
