Introduction
Dr Dan Fitzpatrick is a Consultant in Sport, Exercise & Musculoskeletal Medicine with expertise in acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, concussion, exercise medicine and medical issues related to sport. He works closely with other members of the team to provide holistic, patient-centred care, helping patients get back to being as active as possible. He also has extensive experience working in elite sport across athletics, rugby, football, ballet and tennis.

Dr Fitzpatrick is a Consultant in Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine with extensive experience in managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries.
Dr Dan Fitzpatrick graduated from the University of Manchester before completing his GP training at St George’s Hospital. He then commenced specialist training in Sport and Exercise Medicine in London, working at centres including the Institute of Sports, Exercise and Health, University College London Hospitals, Imperial College Healthcare and Homerton University Hospital.
During his training, he developed expertise in managing acute and chronic injuries in individuals of all ages and activity levels. He currently works in elite sport in athletics and rugby, with previous experience in football, ballet and tennis. He brings this extensive experience to his patients, helping them get back to being as active as possible. He works closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to find the right way forward for each patient.
Dr Fitzpatrick is trained in musculoskeletal ultrasound, which he uses during consultations to aid diagnosis. He also performs injections when appropriate as part of a patient’s treatment plan.
Through his work with sports academies, he has gained experience working with adolescent athletes of all abilities. He has also developed a particular interest in bone stress injuries, women’s health in sport and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), through his work in ballet and athletics.
He is actively engaged in research and has published widely on topics including bone stress injuries and marathon runner health. He also lectures on several postgraduate Sport and Exercise Medicine courses.
