Dr Sam Botchey 2
Biography

Dr Sam Botchey is a Consultant in Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine (SEM) with extensive experience managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems and sports injuries in people of all ages and backgrounds, working privately, within the NHS and elite sport.

Sam is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine having completed Higher Specialty training in the prestigious Oxford Deanery at the world-renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre following emergency medicine training at the London Trauma Centre in St Marys Paddington.

He has a master’s degree in Sport, Medicine Exercise and Health from the University College London and received a distinction in a Post Graduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound from the University of East London, which is where his special interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound stems, using it as both as a diagnostic and interventional tool.

Within his working week, Sam works as a civilian Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Consultant in a Ministry of Defence post at the Aldershot Regional Rehabilitation Unit and within the NHS Frimley ICB Advanced Musculoskeletal and Diagnostics Service. He also works at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, with the England Football Teams development squads and the senior teams on Match Days as part of the Wembley Stadium Pitch Side Team, and is an NFL Teams doctor for the London Games.

Sam is passionate about non-surgical management in musculoskeletal medicine and believes that focussing on a clear diagnosis and management plan allows for the best chance of patients returning to the activities and sports they love.

He has had his fair share of injuries and understands how frustrating they can be.
