Introduction
I am an enthusiastic sports Physiotherapist specialising in the treatment of sports injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. I am passionate about the body’s innate ability to heal and recover, and work closely with each patient to ensure they feel informed, empowered, and confident in their treatment journey. My approach is holistic, focusing not just on symptoms, but on the individual as a whole. Huub is a Physiotherapist with extensive experience in private practice.
I became interested in studying Physiotherapy after experiencing many injuries and surgeries in my teenage years. Looking back now, I am grateful for how those experiences and moments have shaped my life and purpose.
During and after my BSc Physiotherapy studies I have worked in private practice and sport settings in Australia and the Netherlands, before joining Pure Sports Medicine in June 2018 and completing my MSc in Sports Physiotherapy around the same time.
Besides my clinical work as a Physiotherapist, I’ve worked as a clinical lecturer at the MSc in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health at University College London (UCL) for 2.5 years. I’ve also worked as clinical manager at Pure Sports Medicine Kensington for 1.5 years and am currently still working as a yoga teacher.
I’ve been fortunate to help many patients with knee injuries, specifically post-surgical rehabilitation of knee ligament injuries, including the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Besides knee injuries, I extensively treat patients with hip, ankle and shoulder injuries, lower back pain and complex, persistent pain. I enjoy working with any sport.
My work experience, career path and personal development has allowed me to realise that injuries should be looked at through a wider lens than a physical one alone. I believe physical health and wellbeing is very strongly intertwined with mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
I would be honoured to help you get better holistically and look forward to meeting you.
