Dr Michelle Jeffrey is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine with twenty-five years’ experience. She has extensive experience working with amateur and elite athletes and offers specialist diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal injuries and health issues related to sport. She has a particular interest in female athlete health.

Michelle has expertise in musculoskeletal injuries, injury rehabilitation and health issues related to sport, with a particular interest in female athlete health.
Michelle qualified as a doctor in 1996 and initially trained as a GP before going on to become one of the first doctors in Scotland to train as a specialist in Sport and Exercise Medicine. She has extensive experience in team, event and expedition medicine.
For the past fifteen years, she has worked as a Sport and Exercise Medicine doctor at the Sportscotland Institute of Sport (SIS), providing athlete screening, sports medicine expertise and sports injury assessment across a wide range of sports. She currently leads the SEM team at SIS.
Previously, she worked for eight years at the MOD’s Regional Rehabilitation Unit in Edinburgh and as a Consultant at Headley Court, the UK Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre.

Conveniently located within the Pleasance Sports Complex, our Edinburgh clinic offers appointments with Sport & Exercise Medicine Consultants with easy access to imaging when needed. Please note that we can only see patients aged 18 years and over at our Edinburgh clinic.
