Dr Rick is a Consultant in Musculoskeletal, Sport and Dance Medicine with expertise in exercise-induced leg pain and injection therapy, and a background in providing care at major sporting events including the London Olympics.Along with his clinical work at Pure Sports Medicine, he also works at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust in Stanmore.

Rick is a Consultant in Musculoskeletal, Sport and Dance Medicine with expertise in exercise-induced leg pain. and injection therapy.
As well as offering clinical hours at Pure Sports Medicine, Rick also works at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust in Stanmore. He is interested in all aspects of musculoskeletal, sport and dance medicine. This ranges from acute traumatic injury, to chronic overuse injury, to myofascial pain syndromes. He oversees all aspects of the management process from prompt diagnosis to rehabilitation and subsequent injury prevention. Rick’s particular area of expertise is in exercise-induced leg pain and injection therapy.
Qualifying in medicine from Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals Medical School in 1999, Rick then went on to study for a Master’s degree, which he passed with distinction from University College London in 2005. He has trained over a period of 12 years in the NHS and, as well as being doubly accredited as a specialist and generalist, he is also a qualified musculoskeletal sonographer.
Between 2010 – 2014 Rick was a Medical Officer for the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon, and was on the event medical team for Wembley National Stadium from 2007 – 2009. During the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics Games Rick delivered expert Sport, Exercise & Musculoskeletal care to the competing athletes, and has also previously worked with with the English Institute of Sport, British Fencing, British Canoeing and Wheelchair Tennis.

Consultant in Sport, Exercises and Musculoskeletal Medicine at Pure Sports Medicine, Canary Wharf since 2011 and Honorary Sports Physician, UCLH NHS Foundation Trust & Institute of Sport, Exercise & Health (ISEH).
