Diet & Nutrition
Well-balanced nutrition provides you with a foundation for good health & wellbeing; it is essential in helping you reach your potential.

During your first appointment, the Dietitian or Nutritionist will discuss your health history alongside your desired outcome or goals.

This will include a review of your diet, digestion, sleep, exercise, supplementation or medication and any previous lab tests. They will also carry out a physical examination (specific to complaint) and a body composition assessment.
Based on this information, and a combination of subjective and objective metrics, the Nutritionist will propose an individualised nutrition plan, a movement plan and lifestyle/stress strategies. Your plan will be monitored, and you will be provided with specific coaching to help you stay focussed on achieving your goals.

with the following:
Sports nutrition focuses on optimising an athlete’s diet to enhance performance, recovery, and overall health. It involves balancing macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, and fats) and micronutrients to support energy levels, muscle growth, and endurance. Proper hydration, meal timing, and supplementation can also play a key role in improving strength, stamina, and injury prevention. A well-structured sports nutrition plan is essential for athletes to perform at their best and recover efficiently.
Assessing and analysing dietary practices, body composition, and energy balance is essential for optimising health, performance, and recovery. This process involves evaluating an individual’s food intake, nutrient levels, and hydration status, alongside measuring body fat percentage, muscle mass, and overall weight distribution. Understanding energy balance—caloric intake versus expenditure—helps tailor nutrition plans to support training goals, whether for performance enhancement, weight management, or muscle gain. Personalised assessments ensure individuals meet their dietary needs for optimal health and athletic success.
Effective weight management, hydration, and immunity support are key components of an athlete’s overall performance and well-being. Maintaining a balanced diet, proper hydration, and adequate nutrient intake helps sustain energy levels, support immune function, and optimise recovery. Travel, exercise training, and competition demand strategic nutrition and hydration planning to maintain peak performance. Post-exercise recovery focuses on replenishing glycogen stores, repairing muscles, and reducing fatigue. Supplementation, when used appropriately, can further enhance energy, endurance, and recovery, ensuring athletes perform at their best.
Personalised meal plans are designed to support an individual’s health, performance, and recovery by tailoring nutrition to their specific needs, goals, and lifestyle. These plans consider factors such as energy demands, nutrient timing, dietary preferences, and medical conditions to optimize overall well-being. For athletes, meal plans focus on fuelling training, enhancing endurance, and speeding up recovery. A well-structured nutrition plan ensures balanced macronutrient intake, proper hydration, and essential vitamins and minerals to promote peak performance and long-term health.
Achieving and maintaining an optimal balance of body mass, body fat, and muscle mass requires a combination of proper nutrition, regular exercise, and healthy lifestyle habits. A well-balanced diet rich in lean proteins, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats supports muscle growth and energy levels, while strength training and cardiovascular exercise help build muscle and regulate body fat. Monitoring energy intake versus expenditure ensures a sustainable approach to weight management. Prioritising hydration, recovery, and adequate sleep further supports overall health and athletic performance.
Addressing challenges such as food allergies, bone mineral disturbances, gastrointestinal issues, and iron deficiency requires a personalised approach to nutrition and health management. Identifying and avoiding allergens while ensuring adequate nutrient intake is crucial for maintaining energy and performance. Bone health can be supported with sufficient calcium and vitamin D, while digestive issues may require dietary modifications for better gut function. Iron depletion and anaemia can be managed through iron-rich foods, supplementation when necessary, and optimizing absorption with vitamin C. A well-structured nutrition plan helps individuals overcome these challenges while maintaining overall well-being.
Optimal nutrition for recovery from illness or injury focuses on supporting the body’s healing process through a balanced intake of essential nutrients. Protein is crucial for tissue repair and muscle regeneration, while vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, zinc, and calcium aid in immune function and bone healing. Adequate hydration, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates provide energy and reduce inflammation. Personalised nutrition strategies help accelerate recovery, restore strength, and promote overall well-being during the healing process.
If you have a coach or advising health professional, collaboration with a dietitian or nutritionist ensures a well-rounded approach to nutrition that aligns with your training, health, and performance goals. This teamwork allows for personalised dietary strategies that support energy levels, recovery, and overall well-being while addressing specific needs such as weight management, injury recovery, or medical conditions. By integrating expert nutritional guidance with training plans, athletes and individuals can optimise performance, prevent deficiencies, and maintain long-term health.
Food selection and preparation play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy diet and optimising performance. Choosing nutrient-dense foods, such as lean proteins, whole grains, healthy fats, and fresh fruits and vegetables, ensures a well-balanced intake of essential nutrients. Proper food preparation methods, such as grilling, steaming, or baking, help retain nutrients while minimising unhealthy additives. Meal planning and portion control also contribute to maintaining energy levels, supporting recovery, and promoting overall well-being. Smart food choices and preparation techniques can enhance both health and performance outcomes.
