Mel is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 12 years experience in her field. She has previously worked for large teaching NHS trusts in both musculoskeletal and orthopaedic departments, private musculoskeletal practices, and within professional football clubs treating men’s, women’s, and academy youth teams. She also has an interest in research, having worked in medical research for the NHS as well as thesis publication.
Following her undergraduate studies in Sports & Exercise Science, which she completed both in the UK and abroad in the USA whist on a sports scholarship as a cross country and track runner, Mel completed a masters in Rehabilitation Science. This included musculoskeletal, massage and spinal manipulation-specific course modules, as well as other joint-specific modules.
Having completed mat-work, reformer and equipment training, Mel is also a specialist Pilates instructor and uses her knowledge and expertise as an adjunct to help those needing to manage chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
Mel’s experiences as an athlete and clinician have led her to be goal-driven with her patient management to ensure optimal recovery and performance goals are met, and active lifestyles can be maintained, whether that’s following an injury or surgery.
